75/5925 [Haarlem and surroundings]. Anonymous (early 20th cent.). (The miniature tower clock of the city hall of Haarlem). Drawing, pen and ink, brown wash, watercolour, 73x26 cm., laid down on board.

- Yellowed/ browned and soiled.

= After finding pieces of an old toy tower clock in the collection of the city of Haarlem, the city archivist A.J. Enchedé tried to restore the clock to its former glory. Finally his successor C.J. Gonnet found the artist and clock maker F.C. Addicks who was willing to fulfill that task in 1904. It was finished in 1910. The exterior was made by the atelier of architect P.J.H. Cuypers. This drawing was probably made around 1910, perhaps when it was first exhibited.
