(sl.) waterstained in margins; two leaves reattached (both cut sl. short and 1x darkened in outer margin); one leaf w. tear into text; 2 leaves loose(ning); 2 pages stained (p.515 and 560); 5 leaves of quire ddd dam. in upper right corner w. loss of text; all leaves of quire eee dam. in lower/ lower outer margin (without text loss); p.763 dam. w. loss of text; sl. wormholed in inner blank margin. Binding rubbed along extremities and pastedowns lacking.

= The very rare first edition. "'Cruijdeboeck' is not a translation of Fuchs' work. However Dodonaeus obtained the use of wood-blocks which had been employed in the octavo edition of Fuchs' work. To these a number of new engravings were added" (Arber p.82).
