- Vaguely foxed; sm. tear in title-cartouche; a few small closed marginal tears; rolled.
= Early if not the first cadastral map and plan of Medemblik and adjoining polders, "volgens de Perceels Gewijze Plans voor het Kadaster van die Gemeente Opgemaakt in den Jare 1825 op last van den Heer Visser Staatsr: Administr: der directe belastingen in en uit etc. Onder Administratie van den Heer Van Tets van Goudriaan Gouverneur, den Heer P: Pont Burgemeester en Onder Directie van den Heer C: Groll Ingenieur Verificateur door F.J. Nautz Landmeter der Eerste Klasse" (continuation of calligraphed title-cartouche). The Dutch cadastre was started in 1811, but any really useful maps were made only from the 1820s. The Medemblik area is subdivided into three sections: A. Medemblik town; B. De Vliet; C. Braak Polder.
- Tears in two folds of lower sl. wrinkled margin; tear in right margin (just touching the image) closed on verso; sl. yellowed.

"Middelburgum Selandiae Opp: (...)." Engr. bird's eye plan, 23x31,3 cm., from GUICCIARDINI, 1581/ first half 17th cent.

- Sm. narrow waterstainin upper blank margin; sm. hole on fold in upper margin.
= Van den Broecke 79; Blonk-van der Wijst 11.1, the first state (of 4); Van der Krogt/ Koeman I, 3400:31.
- Vertical and horizontal middle fold; not examined outside frame.
= Van der Heyden, Leo Belgicus 12.1: likely 2nd state (of 2), "only appears folded, relevant to adjusting the map to the 12o edition". SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXIX.
- Yellowed; small portion of lower margin of map torn off (5x4.5 cm., affecting the area between Düsseldorf, Halteren and Sollingen).
= Attractive map of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, oriented West at the top. Van der Heijden 145, 1st or 2nd state (of 4), with Arenbergh, Kerpen and Zulch still outside Ducatus Juliacensis, but Gemund and Dalen inside Duc. Juliacensis.
ADDED: 13 miscellaneous other maps of countries surrounding The Netherlands, incl. dam./ mediocre copies, i.a. "Das Herzogthum Schlesien" (partly handcol. engr. map w. 2 inset views of Breslau and Gross-Glogau and a title cartouche, n.pl., Busch, ±1760. Strengthened on verso on folds) and "Comitatus Mansfeld (...)" (handcol. engr. map w. cartouche, Nurnberg, Homann heirs, 1750. Sl. creased and formerly rolled; a few wormholes in and around cartouche).

= Van der Heijden 64, the 3rd state (of 3); Koeman/ Van der Krogt 3000:2.2. Very nice map, originally published in 1608 with figured borders. Used in the Atlas of 1630 and subsequent editions in second and third state, without these borders (except for the narrow ornamental border at the bottom). The cartouche in the lower right corner reads "Ghedruckt t'Amsterdam, bij Willem Blaeu op't Water inde vergulde Zonnewyser". "Lest he should be confused with his formidable rival Johannes Janssonius, it was probably in the course of 1640 that Willem Jansz. changed his signature on the general map of the Netherlands into Willem Blaeu."
