The volumes contain descriptions of the islands Rodriguez, Mauritius, and Batavia, together with an interesting account of the Cape and the Hottentots, and of the Dutch settlements in the Colony. (...)". Howgego L109: "17th-Century French Huguenot who described his adventures in the Indian Ocean, including a landing on what has been identified as the island of Rodriguez. The voyage has always been regarded with some suspicion, some suggesting that it was composed by François Macimilien Misson from other French sources. To add to the confusion, other scholars regard Misson himself as totally fictitious." SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXLV.
