= The Pont family is a well known merchant family from Edam. Most documents with the stamp "Familie-Archief Pont" (w. their coat of arms). A wide variety of items, once part of the personal belongings of various members of the Pont family. Including correspondence from Pieter Pont and Jacob Boot, an interesting collection of documents concerning "Papieren over de Spaansche zaken van Oom Regulus", including manuscript and filled-in letterpress documents in Spanish language and a manuscript document concerning the sale of a "zeepsiederij".

= Nice collection of letters by Albert Schweitzer to the "penningmeester van het Albert Schweitzer Comité in Holland". The letters regularly thank the addressee for his service and i.a. deal with the work in the hospital in Lambarene, the staff, his well-being and difficulties. "(...) Diese Zeite sollen Sie gleich informieren, dass in den Nächsten Zeiten eine sehr (?) Zahlung an die Firma Philips Eindhoven für die Lieferung, Verpackung und Versendung eines Röntgenapparates für mein Spital. Mein 1ster (?) (...) Die Kosten werden wohl über zehn tausent Gulden betragen. Es hat sich aber herausgestellt, das ein solcher Apparat für mein Spital eine Notwendigkeit gewar" [17/12/1953]. "(...) Die grosse Schwierigkeit in alles, was zu tun ist, ist die, dass man die Schwarzen nicht selbständig arbeiten lassen kann. Uberlässt man sie sich selben, so tun sie fast nichts und was sie tun, tun sie zu dem nicht richtig. Darum braucht man hier relativ viel Weine, um die arbeit zu leiten. Dies kompliziert alles." [30/01/1956]. "Das Spital nimmt noch immer zu, was mir grosse Sorge macht. Diesen Sommer muss ich noch einmal bauen, um nah für 20 Kranke Platz zu machen. Als ich im Spätherbst 1957 für lange Zeit in Europa war, hatte ich so viel Arbeit und war ich so müde, dass ich nicht daran denken durfte zu reisen." [13/07/1958]. I.a. 18 contracts concerning the sale and maintenance of a property on the west side of the Denneweg (also mentioning the Van Wassenaar family); a letter dated October 1628 by the "Raden van de Staten" to "den Burgemeesteren ende regeerders der stad Leyden" on the distribution of monetary funds during the Dutch War of Independence; ±25 manuscript documents concerning the sale and maintenance of a property on the east side of the Boeckhorststraat (no.12?) (dated between 1701-1949); a few letters by Mr. Roest van Limburg (Minister of Foreign Affairs) to Mr. D.J. Baron Mackay, chairman of the Hoofdbestuur ter bevordering van Fabriek en Handwerksnijverheid in Nederland concerning the enquiry into the education of Arts and Crafts in England, France and the United States and a letter dated July 1st 1681 by the Staten Generaal concerning the delay in payment of soldiers in 's Hertogenbosch.

= Interesting letters, mainly on activities and publications and on theological matters and conflicts, i.a. extensively on the periodical In de waagschaal. "(...) Hoe vreemd, dat je nu toch weer, op deze rails botst op de uitgerangeerde wagen, die op dood spoor staat. Wat een oponthoud! er is toch geen obstructie in het spel? Ik hoop zéér dat, dat je goeden moed houdt (...)" [30/08/1956]; "Dat kan niet zo doorgaan; ondanks het gebrek aan liefde voor het blad (...) moeten enkelen pal staan tot de zaak uitwendig op de flesch gaat. Maar, beste kerel! wat is er met jou!? ben je ook in de crisis van de Haarlemsche domineetyphus, men geeft zwart op, men is kotsmisselijk van de burgerij en de huichelfacies, men raakt verbitterd (...)" 71/2804 [Utrecht]. (Dom Church and Domkapittel). Archive consisting of ±150 manuscript documents, mostly pen and ink on paper, all folded, 17th-19th cent.

- Some of the material w. some sm. defects (formerly folded/ foxed/ creased/ sl. dustsoiled). Otherwise in good condition.

= Founded in 1254, the Dom Church was situated in the centre of Utrecht and until 1898 the only cathedral in the Netherlands. The current archive consists of numerous documents regarding the administration of i.a. the properties of the Domkapittel and in particular of the "domproost". The domproost was the second highest ranking clerk in the Domkapittel, after the bishop and often from a Dutch noble family. Some names mentioned in the documents: Pieter Roeters, C.P. van Cuylenborch, Gerard Munnicks, Everard van Horscamp and Pieter de Smeth. The present archive consist of transcripts of ordinances, financial accounts, deeds of transport and wills. Thus giving a remarkable insight in the financial matters. Provenance: the archive of the d'Ablaing van Giessenburg family with some personal documents concerning the family, mainly written in German (i.a. a daugther living in Germany who isn't doing very well).
