= A rare large-paper copy of the first folio-edition of this work. Ronsil 844; Nissen, IVB 239; Martin Sale 71; Zimmer p.168: "The plates are very finely executed. (...) The work forms a supplement to Buffon's "Histoire naturelle des oiseaux" (...) and the "Nouveaux Recueil de Planches Coloriées" of Temminck and Laugier (...)." The majority of the plates are by P.
