Describing the life of the famous Dutch general, the book gives a good survey of the history of the Netherlands between 1627 and 1647. The plates depicting i.a. plans of Breda, Den Bosch, Maastricht, Oldenzaal and Wesel; sea-battles and plates of Brazilian interest: Olinda and the Rio Grande. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CIV.
