Gay 1264 and 1275; Playfair 308 (on the French ed. of 1694): "The author was sent by Louis XIV. to effect an exchange of slaves, and to conclude a treaty of peace and alliance against the Algerines. He disembarked in the bay of Tetuan and met the Sultan at Mekenes, but he had to leave the country without effecting his object. = Part of a complete edition by the publisher Pacini of Beethoven's string quartets, with a continuous pagination running from p.64-197 (but not bound sequentially). Francesco Gaetano Saverio Antonio Pacini (1778-1866) worked in Paris from 1806-1840 and was an esteemed publisher with many well wishers amongst composers, as was proven when his business went up in flames in 1835, and he lost his whole stock: his business was saved by the massive support given to him by musicians and composers both French and foreign who sent him their compositions for free.
