Chintz paper, sheet decorated with shepherds and shepherdesses, sheep, dogs, deer and swine, 36,7x47 cm., printed in black and ochre, 2nd half 18th cent. (central fold; Haemmerle XVIII). Chintz paper sheet, decorated w. lanes of curling lines alternating w. lane w. plant motifs, 38x44 cm. - AND 1 other sheet of Haemmerle XVIII (w. large hole in centre).
- Soiled. = Company was liquidated in 1838.
"Honig J.H. & Z". Paper ream wrapper ('riemkap'), engr. manufacturer's mark (6,3x13,2 cm.) printed in read, 30,5x37 cm. (leaf), first half 19th cent.

"J.C. & A. van der Leij, paper fabriekeurs te Zaandijk". Paper ream wrapper ('riemkap'), early 19th cent., large engr. manufacturer's mark (31,5x21 cm.), 34x25 cm. (leaf).

= Section of wrappers for parcels of 480-500 sheets of paper, called reams. Th. & F. Laurentius, Vijftig historische riemkappen (2015), p.III: "Een riemkap is een vaak stevig stuk papier dat papiermakers vanaf de vijftiende eeuw gebruikten om een riem (ca. 500 vellen) van hun kostbare product te verpakken. Die kappen zijn schaars geworden en vaak door hergebruik beschadigd. Ze vertegenwoordigen echter een grote historische waarde en zijn daarom een gewild verzamelobject. "Velin papier". Paper ream wrapper ('riemkap'), late 18th/ early 19th cent., large engr. manufacturer's mark, almost identical to the preceding, without caption (Ø 20 cm.), "S.[?] Mulder Sculps." in the plate, printed in black.
