Two nicely illustrated and highly moralising tales. Not in the other usual reference works. Rare.

Entsprechend schöne und dekorative Ausgaben stellten auch die frühen, bei Hoogstraten gedruckten Ausgaben von 'Een aardig Prentenboek', der niederländische Ausgabe der Orginal-Struwwelpeter, dar". = Very rare. A struwwelpetriade in the shape of a primer with on the last leaf an alphabet on recto and multiplication table on verso. Roelants used only 3 of the original 8 stories to illustrate this primer (stories 1, 2 and 8). Rare early edition with rich colour lithographic illustrations. Cf. Rühle 262c; Lust en Leering p.211 and 224. Rühle describes this edition (the copy from the collection of Theo Gielen): "Erst später liess Roelants bei Hoogstraten in Zwolle drucken (...). Die frühen Ausgaben des Druckers Hoogstraten bestechen durch wunderschöne und detailfreudige Kolorierung, die sich deutlich von den späteren Ausgaben im Farbdruck unterscheiden. Da sind Kleidung, Tischtücher und Wände dekorativ gemustert und nicht einfach mit Farbe ausgefüllt (...). "Contains the stories: "De Geschiedenis van den wreeden Jan", "De geschiedenis van de zwarte Jongens" and "Piet de Smeerpoets".

= Very rare. Probably only published for the students of the faculty of Medicine of Heidelberg. "Zum ersten Male veröffentlicht zum Leipziger Klinischen Vogelschiessen am 29. Juli 1882. A 3rd edition was published in 1885. Very curious Struwelpetriade with Obstetrics-theme in which 12f fetuses present 12 different (problematic) births, i.a. "Ulma die Steissgeburt", "Die atelectatische Elsa".
- Contemp. owner's entry on verso frontwr. and title: "1846 aan Pieter Chistiaan [sic] Zimmermann - Middelburg den 13 jannuarij" and "is voor Mari". A very fine copy.
= Very rare Till Owlglass edition with fine primitive woodcuts in a catchpenny style. Not in the usual reference works. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LII.
